I love the food, the service, the view! They are community oriented, it is a work in progress, but one worth being a part of!

This place is a breath of fresh air! Great food, great prices, great service, great atmosphere! Who could ask for more? I have been there several times now, and just love it. I have been telling everyone I know to go there. There are lots of options for a variety of tastes to enjoy. Try this place out. You won't be sorry.

I just came back from a trip from Bayside grill. I had a coupon for a half off dinner and they would not honor it because my husband ordered a filet and in size 1 white font on light blue paper it said the half off dinner excluded filet. I could understand why they wouldn't want to honor it if I, too, purchased a filet. But I didn't. I had fish. If a couple went in and ordered two whitefish dinners, they would honor the coupon but because he had a filet, they wouldn't take a discount off my fish. That's just retarded, sorry. This was the third time I went there. Our waitress was actually quite good and accommodating this time but the other two times I went there it was at least an hour and a half wait to sit outside. I'm very disappointed and I will be telling all of my friends that live nearby not to go back there.

I am a Walled Laker for 5 years and we couldn't wait for this place to open after seeing it vacant for almost 2 years. I signed up to the Detroit News just so I can write this review. Last night (June 10, 2008) my husband and I walked there for dinner. This was the second time in 10 days that we couldn't sit on the deck because the tables were being reserved. Last time we ate at the booth right next to the window and watched 3 tables remain empty the ENTIRE time we ate there (1.5 hours)! Why do they take reservations for the deck? They should just do 'call ahead seating' and if you show up you are the next in line or something like that. But to just let 3 tables sit there empty and not allow anyone to enjoy the outside is just dumb - so we left. I am tired of constantly seeing how poorly this place is ran. I will give credit where it is due and say that they have a good burger. It used to be the coolest hangout when it was Keelargo then the Boathouse. These owners are terrible! When it first opened we went there and found the owners kids running around like lunatics and the hostess staff are some of the worst...they are not nice, confused etc... they can't even get that right. I wish they would get there act together -- we really miss being able to eat on the water.

I have been coming to Bayside Grille for the past couple of months and have absolutely loved it! I'm in my twenties and looking for a new place to dine and drink with my friends, and I found it at Bayside. They have live entertainment on the weekends and happy hour specials everyday of the week. Their staff is friendly, experienced, and always smiling. I like the casual, yet classy style of the bar which is carried across from their staff to their food. The steak bites are my favorite appetizer and I'll skip the meal as long as I can eat their tiramisu! I can't wait to go back this weekend!

I too had been disappointed with the customer service during the opening stages of Bayside, but, after getting convinced by my daughter to give it another chance, I now love it. We were promptly seated in a booth near the window, enjoying a pleasant sunset over the icy lake. Our waitress was very friendly and tended to our every need. My daughter ordered a chicken caesar salad and I got a burger - cooked medium - and we were both pleasantly surprised by the quickness of its delivery. My burger was fantastic! Perfectly cooked to order. Also, my daughter loved hers as well. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the joint as we caught up on each others' lives and watched the Pistons game - they won! Overall, this place seems to have found its identity as a classy, sports grille and bar, and I HIGHLY recommend you experience it for yourself.

p.s. - order the Bayside Fries as an appetizer. DELICIOUS!!

I recently returned to Bayside for the third time and I was pleased with not only the food but also the service. I can tell that the kinks are worked out, because it seemed that their system ran smoothly from the first that I was there. I ordered the prime rib thursday, which is the special, and I was blown away by the zip sauce. I need to get that recipe! My husband and I both enjoyed our dinners and the tiramisu was incredible. I recommend Bayside to everyone...try it for yourself! Tasting is believing!

We waited so long for this place to open and it is such a disappointment. They don't know what they are....not a sports bar because music plays during big games and you can't hear the game, not a gathering place for middle aged crowd because of weak drinks and very young adults tending bar, not an intimate dining place because lights are very bright.
Food is mediocre, service poor. Definitely cater more to men. Restroom attendent for men with snacks and cigs. Women's room lacked toilet paper on two occassions.
Not a place where everyone knows your name! We've stopped going back after several attempts

On Thurs. Nov. 8 we were seated at the restaurant in a booth (large one by front) Place 1/2 empty (know why now) Noone came to wait on us for 17 minutes and the hostess just looked at us (no other customers came in) other waitress talking and one was washing off tables. First visit (week before) food took too long so long that waitress kept apologizing and salad came at end of meal. We were so excited to have a nice new restaurant and planned to visit often now we will never return.

I think the restaurant aims to be an upper crust sports bar (or lower crust 5-star). In fact, maybe it's not sure WHAT it's trying to be, really. I think we need to give the place a little time to work out the kinks- they only just opened and are still ironing out details.
The first time I went, the service was stellar as was the food. The 2nd time, my experience was just average, but we still had a great time.
I think anyone looking for the frat boy sports pub might be better off at Buffalo Wild Wings. I just think this place is trying to be better than that, especially given the area demographics (more families/retirees, etc.)
Maybe they're trying to satisfy too many groups.

I'm so sorry to write a bad review for this restaurant. I moved to Walled Lake 2 years ago. I've been waiting for Bayside to open almost the entire time I've been here. First of all what is it? It's not really a sports bar. It reminds me of tropical bar. The food is over priced. It's not a place to meet the boys to watch a game and they've already ticked my girlfriend off.
The two things that really bothered me was how unprofessional the owners seem to be. We waited at the hostess stand as one of the owners took a personal phone call and went on and on, while completely ignoring us. The small children of the owners was the other thing. The kids ran around the restaurant like it was a play area. They want to be upscale, but they aren't. They'll turn most people off and be out of business soon. It's too bad. I wanted this place to work.

This place is nice, but it just does not fit in the area as a sports bar. It was EXTREMELY over priced and the menu was nothing to write home about. The orders for myself and wife were both wrong.
The worst part is that you had to Valet Park in order to park in their lot and they had a bathroom attendant. Granted, those are nice accommodation's if you were going to a 5 star restaurant....but not a bar in Walled Lake. This place use to be The Boathouse, if you are expecting it to be the least bit similar...sorry to let you down.
My predictions....they will be busy for the first few months when people in the area come to check it out, but most will not be back. They will either be closed in 8 months or their over the top pricing and accommodation's will be eliminated.
