Molly Abraham: Bisques, chowders, gumbos, consommes and soups of every description are ladled from a master list of 200 varieties at the five locations of this small Ferndale-based chain. A dozen choices are offered each day, along with chunks of multi-grain bread. There is always a vegetarian selection. The soups are meal-in-a-bowl sturdy. Salads and desserts are also available at most locations. The original location in Southfield has been joined by four more, and all report that chicken pot pie soup is the best seller. The restaurants are all cafeteria style.
