Cafe Sushi

Molly Abraham: Cafe Sushi blends east and west in an attractive setting done up in green and black, with black granite tabletops and extensive woodwork in Brazilian cherrywood. Romantic paintings of Parisian sidewalk cafe and garden scenes add an odd but effective twist. The menu includes many Japanese specialties, including a number of tempuras, teriyakis and noodle dishes as well as a full range of sushi. The multi-course omakase dinner (chef's choice) is a real treat. The 21-seat sushi bar is a focal point and a smaller yakitori bar adds to the feeling that everything a Japanese food fancier could desire is probably going to be found here. The fusion approach goes beyond the decor to such dishes as sauteed scallops and duck cooked in red wine. The proprietor is also involved with Cherry Blossom in Novi.
