Created by Michigan filmmakers Robert Sams and Laura Sams, "The Riddle in a Bottle' is the winner of Best Children's Film at Patagonia's Wild and Scenic Film Festival, the largest environmental film festival in the United States. The movie was named one of the three best children's wildlife films for world-wide at the Panda Awards.
Come watch the movie and meet the makers! They will share a short family program after the movie. Get ready to hear behind-the-scenes stories of filming sharks! Get ready to hear Robert Sams sing like a pirate! Get ready to have fun and to learn!
The movie has also inspired the children's book, "A Pirate's Quest", illustrated by Michigan wildlife artist Heiner Hertling. The book is published by Carl R. Sams II, authors of "Stranger in the Woods" and the "In the Woods" series of New York Times best-selling children's picture books. Autographed products will be for sale after the program with all proceeds going to support the environmental education activities of Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve. Refreshments available for a small donation.
Film will be screened in the Harrison Room of the Rochester Community Schools Administration Center, 501 W. University Drive in Rochester.
