Something Different a good night out

I think SecondSh* = No class. I would like to hear what time the large group of 16 people arrived to the show? 30 minutes early? Enough time to move people around?

If you know anything about Comedy Theatres is that it is NOT always a specific reserved seat. i.e. I do not get section 4 row b seat 12. I get a ticket (that basically guarantees me entering the door).

That does not make what happened to him and his party right. I am just saying that it would be a tough spot. And everyone should avoid getting into that spot if possible. So, if you have a large group, call ahead to remind them, be specific, give them the party name and what time you expect to be there, and arrive early, send someone from the group to get there early. Otherwise you can get screwed. What if that other party had the same darn name and 16 people? That would suck. But what can you do? I guess SecondSh* happens :-)

I just do not understand with all the bad press that the state of michigan and the city of detroit is getting that we would want to bash anything postive, or funny, etc. SecondCity is great for metro detrot and is a good night out.

Second City Novi = No class

I was celebrating my wife's 30th birthday with a large group of friends (16 people from all around town) and we thought it would be fun to check out Second City in Novi. The show was "Kwame a River: The Chronicles of a hip-hop mayor". Here's a step-step walk-through of the night.

1) We had dinner at Andiamo then walked over to the theater. I noticed a few woman cut in line in front of us and walk into the show without presenting a ticket, no big deal, they probably went to get a drink.

2) We hand over our tickets and they let us in but there's one big problem...there's only a few seats left and they're scattered all over the place.

3) The guy inn charge of seating looks into the problem. He informs us that they had accidently seated a smaller group of 12 in the area that should be ours. I ask if he can have them move to where they were supposed to be. He tells ME to calm down, and "If I want to...ask them to move myself."

4) I ask the guy who tooks our tickets if we can get a refund since there's no seats left, he says no "It's all done through.Take it up with them".

5) I ask for the manager and inform him I've spent hundreds of dollars on seats that don't exist and invited guests from all over the metro area, is there ANYTHING he can do to fix the matter...he tells me "You respect me and I'll respect you" in a hostile tone.

6) I tell him that the situation IS in fact his problem and as a manager he should do something to correct it. I also tell him to start treating the customer like a victim not the criminal. He doesn't understand what that means.

7) He offers me some buy one get one free coupons. I laugh in disgust while pondering to myself if this is TRULY happening.

8) All 16 patrons leave upset and in disbelief. Everyone agrees that they will NEVER patronize Second City again. In fact, they will do everything in they're power to make sure that nobody else pays good money for such criminal service.

9) The group of 16 sends mass nagative emails to everyone at their place of business. I my case, it's 1,400 people.

10) They write negative reviews on every website that concerns Second City.

11) They MAKE SURE Second City loses thousands of dollars in future ticket sales.

11) They realize the parallel between Kwame Kilpatrick and Second City Novi. No class, stupid, blame it on the white guy mentality.

12) They laugh.
