The Pastry Parlor & Tea Room in New Hudson caters to anyone looking for an elegant spot to relax with a hot cup of tea and a chocolate eclair. The tea room is the first business that South Lyon residents Maxine Przybylowics and her daughter, Karen Pearson, have opened together. During Pearson's 26 year career, she has worked as a pastry chef for several upscale hotels and four-star restaurants, including Greenfield Village and the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dearborn. Pearson's finest dessert is her cannoli, according to her mother and her lemon tarts are a popular seller. She also makes handmade chocolate candies and bakes cakes and tortes to order.The tea room serves soups, salads, sandwiches and a daily luncheon. For $10.95, guests can select from a rotating list of entrees and enjoy a soup or salad, miniature loaf of bread and tea or coffee.Morning tea and parlor tea are served upon request. The seven course high tea requires a 48 hour reservation. Available teas include black, green, white, rooibos and tisane. The Pastry Parlor & Tea Room is housed in a brick building just south of New Hudson Inn on Grand River Avenue in New Hudson. The business tries to creat an intimate, relaxed setting for visitors. Another point of pride is the freshness of everything they offer. All food is made to order. A second story is available for private parties catered by the tea room.
