Dim reviewer?
Since apparently film reviewer Tom Long does not know the difference between the 18th and 19th centuries, can you trust what he has to say about this historical film about the life of a real early NINETEENTH-century Romantic poet? Perhaps before Tom Long evokes cynicism and offers such a negative review of a film, he should make sure he has located it in the correct century?! And readers please beware of the film critic who evokes cynicism about a romantic film but can't get his centuries straight! Any college student who has taken LIT 101 knows the romantic poets did their thing in the early nineteenth century.

A high-minded butterfly of a film, "Bright Star" takes the notion of romantic idealism to its furthest limits. That it's based on a true story gives it some historical heft, but those with even an ounce of cynicism running through their veins may be taxed.
