Flower Day at the Eastern Market is one of the largest flower shows in the country. Also enjoy food, Wacky Wagon contest, kids' activities and music.
Members of the Metro Detroit Flower Growers Association (MDFGA) and hundreds of flower growers from Michigan, Canada and
neighboring states fill the market with their colorful array offerings. More than 15 acres of the highest quality annuals, perennials, foliage, shrubbery, trees, exotics, tropical plants, flats, hanging baskets and more will be available for purchase.
Wacky Wagon Contest: 7 a.m.-noon
Shoppers enter their decorated wagons to compete for prizes in three categories: Most Entertaining, Most Creative, and best representation of the Spirit of Flower Day. Each year hundreds of Flower Day visitors decorate their wagons for entrance into the contest.
Children’s Merry Market Land: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
On Saturday and Flower Day
Sunday, families can find colorful performances, clowns, train rides, hands-on activities, a farm animal corral and crafts for kids of all ages.
Eastern Market Buskers will have performances as dancers, mimes, artists, clowns, magicians, musicians, puppeteers, jugglers, acrobats,
tumblers, living statues, and just plain weird.
