Molly Abraham: The light, enticing fare of Vietnam is served in an L-shaped cafe setting with walls painted a soft shade of yellow, with small framed drawings of everyday scenes in Vietnam to set the tone. Proprietors Myanh Nguyen, her husband Andrew and his sister Phuong are the principals behind the attractive room. Just 48 seats are available for a menu which changes seasonally and offers such dishes as curried sea bass with freh mint, dill, basil and vermicelli noodles, gingered chicken sauteed with eggplant and green onion, salted crispy pickerel filet in lemongrass, roasted chicken marinated in orange juice and five spices, and, of course, pho, the fragrant noodle soup which is a staple dish in Vietnam. A small but well-chosen wine list accompanies the fare.
