With the long awaited new album "Night Castle" on the verge of being released, Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO), one of rock music’s biggest arena attractions, stops at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
In the first half of the live show, TSO performs Christmas Eve and Other Stories in its entirety, complete with a narrator. This means audiences get to hear “O Come All Ye Faithful” and other seasonal classics seamlessly move from crunching metal power chords to the majesty of full orchestra to soft piano and voice ballads, while the narrators and vocalists act out the drama.
The second half of the show is a full on rock concert including songs from the band's other recordings, and previews of selections for the much-anticipated forthcoming release, "Nightcastle."
The other ingredient of TSO’s live success is its remarkable staging, a cornucopia of lights, lasers, set pieces and pyrotechnics that is truly the most massive in arena rock today, one that moves further down the road pioneered by art rockers like Pink Floyd.
